The Carbon Core Guard case houses a gold ion-plated bezel, magma-orange accents and a bio-based resin strap moulded to resemble geological strata. Built for the elements with shock, mud and vibration resistance and 200-metre water resistance, it runs on Tough Solar power with Multi-Band 6 radio control, Bluetooth smartphone link and a triple sensor for altitude, barometric pressure, compass and temperature. Built not to break
A module that floats
Inside a hollow case, the module (the heart of the watch) seems to float, so knocks from outside are softened before they reach it. The idea came from watching children play with a rubber ball.
Tough Solar
A thin, film-like solar panel is fitted into the dial around the display, and it turns even weak light, such as from fluorescent lamps, into power.

G-SHOCK began with a dropped watch. Casio designer Kikuo Ibe saw a watch break when it fell, and proposed “a durable watch that would not break even if dropped”.
